Getting started with CORTO Chat

Welcome to the CORTO Chat User Guides, your comprehensive resource for mastering the innovative capabilities of CORTO Chat. Developed by CORTO, CORTO Chat is a cutting-edge tool designed to enhance your legal practice by automating and streamlining various aspects of case and matter management.

Starting a CORTO Chat

  1. Connecting OneDrive Folders:
    Click the "Connected" button to connect to your firm's OneDrive. Click "Continue" to connect with matter folders via your OneDrive account. Once you connect the selected OneDrive folder or folders, all matters included in those folders will appear as a Matter list.

  2. Matter List:
    The matter list will appear on the left side of the home page. Click a Matter in the "Matter list" to start the CORTO Chat for that specific Matter. The CORTO chat prompt will appear, with the Matter name displayed at the top.

  3. Matter List Sort:
    Click the "Matter List Sort" icon, located on the top right of the Matter List section for the Sort and View options.
    A. Sort: The user is allowed to sort their matter list with the given options as they preferred
    i. Matter Name
    ii. Date added
    iii. Ascending
    iv. Descending
    B. View: The user is allowed to sort their matter list with the given options as they preferred
    i. Condensed view
    ii. Show hidden

  4. Matter search:
    Click the "Matter Search" icon, located at the top center of the chat interface. This allows you to search for matters within your connected OneDrive folders.

  5. Chat History:
    If the selected Matter has been discussed previously, the chat history will be listed below. You can review past chats or continue the conversation by selecting the preferred chat history.
    Note: Matters selected for the first time will not include the chat history section.

    • New Chat:

      • Click the "New Chat" button to start a new CORTO chat. There is a down arrow next to the "New Chat" button, which reveals two options:

        • A. About this Matter: Click to open a CORTO chat about this Matter.

        • B. About Document(s): Click to open a CORTO chat about a selected document or documents within the Matter.

      • When selecting "About Document(s)", you will be navigated to a document search. Type the document name, select the document, and click the "Start Chat" button.

      • Click the "Go Back" link to return to the chat prompt.

  6. Chat Window Extension and Collapsing
    Click the "Chat Window Extension and Collapsing" icon located at the top right of both the Matter list and chat history sections. This allows you to customize your view by extending or collapsing the chat window as needed, providing a more flexible and tailored workspace.

  7. Suggestion Questions:
    The CORTO chat provides three suggested questions located at the top right of the chat prompt. Users can choose from these questions by clicking on them.

  8. Chat Prompt:
    Type your question into the chat prompt and click the "arrowhead (▹)" to submit it to CORTO AI to generate an answer.

  9. Answer
    CORTO chat generates an answer based on the question and relevant references.

  10. Answer Reference
    Reference All reference documents related to the generated answer will be listed below the answer for user reference.

  11. Regenerate Answer
    To regenerate the answer, click the "regenerate (↻)" icon located at the bottom left side of the answer.

  12. Copy the Answer
    To copy the generated answer, click the "Copy(❒)" icon located at the bottom left side of the answer.

  13. Email the Answer
    To send the answer as an email, click the "email(📧)" icon located at the bottom right side of the answer.

  14. Like the Answer
    To like your answer, click the "thumbs up(👍)" icon located at the bottom left side of the answer.

  15. Provide Feedback
    To provide feedback and suggestions about the answer, click the "thumbs down(👎)" icon located at the bottom right side of the answer.
